Jay Freede (CMM, MBA) is the Treasurer of the Oklahoma Chapter of the National Association of Royalty Owners and the former Vice President of the NARO National Board of Directors. He is an Oklahoma City native and proud member of the Choctaw Nation. Jay is a sixth-generation mineral owner, and the fourth-generation in his mother's family to work in the oil and gas industry. He is also the great-nephew of the late Dr. Henry J. Freede, an orthopedic surgeon and longtime Oklahoma wildcatter. Jay currently manages mineral and royalty interests located throughout Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. He studied marketing as an undergraduate at the University of Oklahoma before pursuing an MBA in International Business and a Certificate in Petroleum Land Management from Oklahoma City University. In 2016, Jay became a Certified Mineral Manager- Professional Level. He has been an OK-NARO member since 2008, and is also a member of NARO-TX and NARO-AR. Jay's favorite activities include running, playing golf and cheering for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
